The Japan Marketing Award was awarded to Liyang Paper Co., Ltd. The winning product was a holographic fixed carton designed for the Provocative Woman gift set by Elizabeth Arden, New York. As a cardboard processor, Hazen Co., Ltd. used a water-based adhesive to compound 48-gauge holographic rainbow polyester film produced by Spectratek Technology Co., Ltd. onto the coated surface of 20-point SBS paperboard. Hazen also coated this film with Ultracure acrylic varnish. As a packaging designer and co-packer, Hub Folding Box of Mansfield, Mass., composites a 48-gauge reflective silver and aluminized polyester film on the inside of the carton, which enhances the strength of the box and improves its appearance. . Under the high-intensity light of the department store cosmetics counter, the crisscross effect of the rainbow and the surface black print are very eye-catching.
The judges appreciated the subtle effects of the design and were impressed by the relief area that almost surrounded the entire box top and its expressiveness. One judge considered "exquisite printing", while the other said "there is shock."
