A Recent Packaging Error Leads To Major Recall

Mattel was made aware of a misprint on the packaging of the Mattel Wicked collection dolls, primarily sold in the U.S., which intended to direct consumers to the official WickedMovie.com landing page," Mattel told NPR.  "We deeply regret this unfortunate error and are taking immediate action to remedy this."

The timing of the error could not have been more critical.  With the "Wicked" film set to hit theaters on November 22, the dolls were part of a larger retail strategy designed to capitalize on the film's anticipated success.  Removing these products from major retailers like Target, Walmart, Macy’s, Kohl’s, Best Buy, and Amazon could impact Mattel's revenue, especially during the crucial holiday shopping season.cardboard box for chocolates.jpg
